Perhaps you’ve noticed that more vape companies are selling CBD products – everything from vape juices to pet treats.
CBD is a natural, legal compound extracted from the hemp plant. It is known to alleviate many ailments.
Although hemp is part of the cannabis species, CBD contains less than .03% THC, so it cannot get you high! Many products have zero THC. CBD does not contain any nicotine.
I think the growing popularity of CBD is great, in fact, I’ve been using CBD e-juices and gummies for over a year now.
I do find it ironic; however, that CBD may be great for calming the nerves, but you can get downright exasperated just trying to figure out how much you need to take.
That’s because dosages and strengths per serving are rarely listed on the labels or on the product’s online webpage.
I decided to put together a list of quality CBD products that give you the recommended dosages. What is a “quality” CBD product? It means the manufacturer uses a third-party lab to test their products for purity and ingredient percentages. The best companies include links to those reports on their websites.

Why Don’t We See Dosages for Most CBD Products?
Although the FDA as evaluated hemp derived CBD as GRAS (generally recognized as safe), products have not been fully regulated.
To date, CBD product sellers are not required to list dosages. They do recommend that you consult with your doctor before taking a CBD product. The main reason for this is because any supplement, (even vitamins) may interact with medications you are taking.
Also, everybody’s body size and biochemistry is different. Some people will need a lower dose of CBD, others will need a higher dose to receive the same therapeutic effects.
For those who choose not to visit their health care practitioner, CBD sellers recommend you start out with the lowest potency.
That may sound pretty straightforward, but even if you buy your CBD product in the lowest strength, you still don’t know how many drops to use, or how many puffs to take, or how long you can expect to wait before you feel the effects of the CBD.
Most people want a more detailed guideline on dosages.

CBD Oils and Tinctures
CBD Oils and Tinctures are made to be taken orally, sublingually (under the tongue) or mixed with drinks.
They are highly concentrated and are very potent. That’s why it’s helpful to know the recommended dose.
1 – JUST CBD Honey Oil CBD Tincture contains organic CBD and all-natural honey. Each bottle of this tasty tincture includes a dropper to ensure accurate measurements. The dosage is listed right on the box. I’ve been using this product to accelerate healing and it really works for me.
2 – Lazarus Naturals Full Spectrum CBD Oil is all-natural and 100% vegan. All products undergo strict third-party testing to ensure they conform to the most stringent standards for purity. Lazarus Naturals comes in several flavors and different bottle sizes. Flavors include Flavorless and Tropical Breeze. Like all CBD tinctures, they are made to be taken sublingually (under the tongue) or mixed with drinks.
You get truly accurate measuring with Lazarus CBD oils as it comes with a graduated dropper. The website recommends how much you should take to get results. What we like best is that no matter what size bottle you order, you always get 50mg of CBD per 1ml.
1 – CBDfx Hemp CBD Capsules are an easy way to take your daily dose of CBD. They’re also great for travel as you don’t have to worry about carrying any extra “liquid” baggage.
The Capsules from CBDfx are a full spectrum CBD product, so they have the highest potency available in each 25mg pill. They are PG free and 100% organic.
There is no measuring, and the CBDfx website page recommends the dose, plus how and when to take them.
Terpenes are chemicals that give the cannabis plant (and all plants) their unique scent. Think of them as the ‘aromatherapy’ ingredients that have healing properties. Each strain produces its own aroma and healing effect.
The terpenes we recommend have a vegetable glycerine base and are made to be taken sublingually.
1 – Green Roads Terpenes CBD products are consistently pure and high quality and they lists dosages on the packaging.
Green Roads Terpene flavor strains include: Blueberry, Tange, Pineapple, Strawberry, Sour Diesel and Original Nectar.
I tested the popular 100mg Pineapple Express flavor strain and it tasted great. Even at this low strength, I found it to be very effective.
Taking your daily dose of CBD was never easier or more enjoyable. Check out these products.
1 – CBD Genesis Delta-8 THC Gummies are yummy. They are also 100% organic and the bag includes a variety of flavors. Each piece contains 25mg CBD and they are very effective. Reviewers rate this product 5 stars. It’s hard to resist taking two at a time, and I admit, I’m guilty of doing just that. Relief came quickly and without consequence, except for the fact that now I’ll have to buy my next bag a lot sooner.
2 – CBD Licorice is as irresistible as CBD gummies – maybe even more so because they’re bigger! These delicious treats are all-natural, vegan and GMO Free.
The recommended amount to take isn’t listed right on the jar. So why is it on my list?
DirectCBD Red Licorice Bites are All Natural CBD, 100% Vegan and Non GMO.
What’s more, there are links to the product’s complete Certificate of Analysis.
There are no synthetics or THC.
Can You Take Too Much CBD?
CBD is safe to use and there has never been any report of toxicity, or an overdose.
Keep in mind; however, that higher strengths of CBD are more expensive than lower ones, so it can be more economical to start out with a 150mg bottle of CBD vape juice instead of a 600mg strength.
Also, many people find that it doesn’t take a lot to feel the positive effects of CBD.
Are There Any General CBD Dosage Recommendations?
You’ll find suggested doses for CBD all over the web. That said, the Mayo Clinic has a long list of CBD dosages for many ailments. For example, they say you can take 2.5-20mg CBD orally for chronic pain, and 40mg-160mg CBD orally for anxiety and sleep disorders.
Remember, your body size and biochemistry will determine the effectiveness of each dose.
CBD, (short for cannabidiol) is a natural compound found in the cannabis species of plants. Although it has not been classified by the FDA as a drug or medicine, CBD has been used for thousands of years to treat many ailments, including pain, insomnia, anxiety and skin problems.
CBD products that are derived from the hemp plant are legal in all 50 United States. They may contain trace elements of THC, but there’s no way they can get you high.
There are many products available, from vape juices, to edibles, to creams and lotions.
You can purchase CBD in selected strengths, but specific dosages are not always listed on the manufacturers’ packaging or website.
Our recommended list of CBD products all have instructions for use on the packaging, or on the recommended seller’s website.
